Exiting Jagalchi station and waiting for the Gamcheon bus, I immediately noticed a bakery in the vicinity, despite all unconscious efforts of masking it with the world's biggest awning and some sort of sun screen contraptions. ;) Inside, it's an old-school bake shop specializing mostly in sweet and savoury doughnuts and buns. Nothing overly elaborate with most buns, whether they be a croquette bun or cream bun, looking very much alike, the visual highlight here was their very well-priced doughnuts.
So I took two: the classic twist and a round doughnut that resembled a potato (700 won each). I actually thought the latter was stuffed with red bean paste, but it wasn't. Oh well. In general, Korean doughnuts may not all be phenomenal, but they almost always reach a certain level of deep-fried goodness that satisfies your doughnut cravings. The Bread, on the other hand, was not very satisfying. For one, it was too fried, too oily. Then there was the whole fact that, though supposed to be a sweet doughnut, the dough itself was not sweet at all. Nor was there any real sugar on top, so it was like a savoury fried bun without the savoury filling. Great price, but still not worth it.
