B&C "bread and cake" is smaller bakery franchise with about half a dozen locations in and around the city of Busan. Their website bills them as a French bakery and with that I must disagree; there is nothing remotely French about cream cakes, multi-packs of manju, and quintessentially Korean sweet and savoury "bread". Maybe it's an attempt to liken themselves to that other "French" bakery: Paris Baguette? Thankfully, B&C is no Paris Baguette, though without a doubt their baked goods, regardless of the kind, do look like they came from a bakery franchise. There is something so inexplicably mass-produced about them.
Nevertheless, taking away the cream cakes, chocolate brownie-cakes and manju variants (which salespeople were frantically trying to push onto customers), I discovered that B&C didn't have all that much in terms of unique, varied selections. Just a lot of space dedicated to the same thing repeated several times over. Yes, I really didn't know what to take. In the end, I grabbed a cinnamon bun (2000 won). A fairly flat, puck-shaped pastry, this cinnamon bun looked better more flaky and flavourful than it was. After all, the cinnamon swirl appeared to be spread throughout, but the taste surprisingly lacked cinnamon; actually, with the dough also having no distinct taste of its own, I would say it was rather bland. It was also soft with no real crunch factor on the outside. A bit like supermarket danishes. All in all, there was nothing bad about it, but it was nothing incredible either.
